Biography of the Guest Speaker
Honourable Johnie Keemenao Swartz, is Botswana’s Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology. Having joined politics in the 1980s, he has been a Member of Parliament for Ghanzi and later Ghanzi North since 1987. Before he was appointed to his current cabinet portfolio, he served as Minister of Agriculture and Works and Transport. A trained Social and Community Development worker, Hon. Swartz worked for Ghanzi District Council from 1976 to 1981 when he left the service to engage in farming.
