Biography of the Conference Chair
, a Professor of Computer Information Systems at Philadelphia University, has served as a Distinguished Fulbright FLAD Chair in Information Systems. Prof. Sztandera earned a Diploma from University of Cambridge (England), an M.S. from University of Missouri, and a Ph.D. in computer and engineering science from the University of Toledo. Dr. Sztandera's research interests include Business Intelligence, Knowledge Management and Engineering, and Computational Intelligence. His teaching areas encompass Management of Information through Technology, Management of Technological Change, Information Systems, Data Mining, and Decision Support Systems. Prof. Sztandera is a recipient of a Teaching Excellence Award. Complementary with his teaching effort, Dr. Sztandera has been involved in a variety of research activities. He has received over $5,000,000.00 in research funding. His research was funded by, among others, by U.S. Army, Department of Commerce, National Textile Center, National Science Foundation, Ohio Supercomputer Center, Pittsburgh Supercomputer Center, and American Heart Association. Dr. Sztandera is a member of professional organizations in U.S. and Canada: Association for Computing Machinery, North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society, and Canadian Society for Fuzzy Information and Neural Systems.
