Prof. Yaz received his Ph.D. in 1982 from the Bosphorus University, Istanbul, Turkey. He became a University Professor at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 2001; and he is currently the Chair of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the Marquette University, Milwaukee. His current research interests are in the areas of robust and nonlinear estimation with applications to smart sensor systems, electric machine fault diagnostics, and chaotic synchronization. He has to date more than 300 publications in these and other areas. Prof. Yaz has received numerous research and teaching awards. He has also been serving on the editorial boards of several journals.
