Biography of the Editor of the Proceedings and Program Co-Chair
Professor Tan Kok Kiong received his PhD in 1995 from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Prior to joining the university, he was a research fellow at Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology where he was involved in managing industrial projects in IT and automation. He is currently an associate professor with NUS and his research interests are in precision motion control and instrumentation. He is on the editorial board of Springer, and an editorial board member or associate editor with ISA Transactions, Control and Intelligent Systems, Asian Journal of Control, Computers and Electrical Engineering, International Journal of Engineering Education and IEEE Transactions on Education. He has published close to 200 journal papers, authored eight books and has won 30 international and regional awards for his works. Two of his inventions have been exclusively licensed and commercialized.
