Biography of the Organizer
was born on April, 2nd 1946 in Krasnoyarsk. In the mid '70s he introduced for the first time the probability theory and statistics of concept of set-expectation; and set-medians for random sets (now Vorob'ov's set-expectation and set-median) which are similar to concepts of a expectation and a median for random variables (the PhD's thesis, 1979). In 1973 he constructed his random set model of forest fire spread (now Vorob'ov's model). The thesis for his doctor's degree (1993) was devoted to development of the new theory of random finite abstract sets and to its applications. He is also the founder of eventology (2001), a new direction in the probability theory, which studies movement of sets of events in humanities and socio-economics systems. Professor Oleg Yu Vorob'ov
