Ian Cloete is the President of the International University in Germany and Professor of Computational Intelligence in the School of Information Technology. He received the M.Sc.(Eng.) degree from Natal University, Durban, and the Ph.D.(Eng.) degree from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the International Neural Network Society (INNS). He served on the editorial boards of several scientific journals, including the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Neurocomputing, and currently serves Soft Computing and the International Journal of Hybrid Intelligent Systems. He also serves on the Programme Committees of various international conferences and chairs the Neural Networks Technical Committee of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. He is the editor of Knowledge-Based Neurocomputing, along with Jacek M. Zurada, was published by MIT Press.
