Biography of the Keynote Speaker
received his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. His currently serves as a Professor in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla. He has been instrumental in developing a new closed form nonlinear suboptimal controller called the theta-D technique, and has been active developing new techniques with neural networks as tools to solve optimal control problems in aerospace, mechanical and bio systems, and partial differential equations. His work has been supported by the National Science Foundation, US Army Space and Missile Defense Command, US Naval Surface Warfare Center, US Air Force, Missile Defense Agency, and various NASA centers.
