Las Vegas, dubbed the Entertainment Capital of the World, lies in the heart of the stunning Nevada desert, a glamorous getaway for anyone in search of exciting nightlife, glittering casino hotels, and dazzling lights. Over 38.9 million visitors pour into the city every year, and it’s easy to see why: nowhere else in the world hosts such an overwhelming combination of 5-star hotels, celebrity-chef restaurants, and world-famous attractions unique to the area. In fact, there you’ll find 17 of the 20 biggest hotels in the US.
Stay in the world-famous Caesar’s Palace, take gambling lessons and then show off your skill at the MGM Grand, shop at malls with resident DJs, cheer with the crowd at a boxing match, and be amazed at incredible Cirque du Soleil shows. While cruising the Strip, you’ll walk through the Bellagio Fountains, see magic shows, and laugh the night away at one of many comedy clubs. If you decide to visit the Fremont East District downtown instead, you’ll find countless bars and bistros with live music and eclectic cocktails, and stroll through the artist collective in the Emergency Arts building, complete with writing, photography, clothing designs, and more. You might also catch the Fremont Street Experience: 12.5 million lights and 550,000 watts of sound that will blow you away.
If you prefer to be outside the city’s nightlife, try swimming with the sharks at the Shark Reef Aquarium, ride the roller-coasters, sky-dive over the city, and zip-line over the sky-scrapers. For a quieter day, relax for hours at a health spa, golf, wander through the Las Vegas Zoo (home to over 150 species of animals and plants), or discover the city’s history at the Neon Museum. The Smith Centre for the Performing Arts, in Symphony Park, hosts Broadway shows as well as orchestra, opera, and dance performances. There is no shortage of fun-filled activities in Vegas.
